Biography
Matthew Rygelski is a professional musician who wants to use music to make a difference in his community. Whether in solo, chamber, or orchestral performances, Matthew has performed in various community performance series, such as the Peabody at the Shelter Performance Series, Peabody at the Library, or the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Fiddlesticks Family Concert Series.

As an orchestral performer, Matthew has performed professionally with the Johnstown Symphony Orchestra and the Mid-Atlantic Symphony as a substitute musician. He has also performed with the Peabody Symphony Orchestra and Peabody Wind Ensemble. Matthew has also performed solo works such as Luigi Bassi’s Rigoletto Fantasy and Debussy Premiere Rhapsody, and chamber works including the Mozart Clarinet Quintet and Messiaen Quartet for the End of Time.

Matthew is the recipient of the International Clarinet Association Clareidoscope Young Artist 3rd Prize, and the John Philip Sousa Band Award. Currently, Matthew is pursuing a master's degree at the Peabody Institute, studying with Alexander Fiterstein. When he is not performing or teaching, you may find Matthew volunteering at his local church for community events.
